Welcome to Fort Worth, Texas Pack 422!

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. These events may be with their families, Den (boys of the same age or grade) or the whole Pack.

Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the Den meetings and the monthly Pack meetings.

Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Uniform, the Scout Oath and Law, the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.

Use "Contact Us" to get information to join our pack anytime and see what fun and adventures await your son!

Upcoming Events in April and May for Pack 422

Posted on Apr 7 2016 - 9:59pm

Please note that Crossover is May 15th, which means you need to get requirements logged off in Scouttrack.com for your Scout by early May (May 7th at latest) to ensure rank advancement is achieved by Crossover, i.e. that he gets the patch he’s been working on since September.  Reminder that all ranks are required to complete the child abuse pamphlet at the front of each handbook, as well as complete the Cyber Chip award requirements.  If you have any questions about requirements, please talk to your Den Leader ASAP.

  1. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 6:30 – 8pm is our next Pack meeting at WSES cafeteria.  This will be a joining meeting, and we hope to have some new faces joining the Pack that night, so let’s put our best foot forward and please make a point to welcome these new faces if you get an opportunity.  Also, please invite a friend to come to the April meeting.  If your son brings a friend to check things out or who’s thinking about joining, we’ll let him get up and introduce his friend to the Pack if he would like or at least recognize him for such.
  2. Thursday, April 14 and 21 are the Archery dates – hope to see you on one of these dates.
  3. April 22nd weekend (Friday night through Sunday morning):  Pack Campout at Cleburne State Park – more info on this as we get closer to the event.  We will be asking for RSVP’s soon for that, so we make sure we have enough, but not too many, sites for the campout.  (Den leaders, please start working on a skit and/or song with your Den for the campfire on Saturday night at the campout.)
  4. Tuesday, May 10th from 6-8pm:  Starship Battle Simulator Pack Meeting at the Longhorn Activity Center at 5350 Basswood Blvd.
  5. Sunday, May 15th: Crossover – location and time TBD.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Invite your friends to the National Scouting Museum Visit on Sunday, March 6th at 2:00pm

Posted on Feb 29 2016 - 2:35pm

Parents, we need your help recruiting boys into the pack this year, and we are attempting to get the word out a little sooner than usual.  As mentioned at Blue & Gold, the ISD does not allow non-school related organizations to send flyers home with the boys.

So, please, please, please ask your son to invite at least one or all of his friends to come to the Museum, as per the attached flyer.

You can email the flyer to his friends’ parents, or you can print and let him hand out to his friends outside of school hours.  We want to stay on good terms with both schools.

Scouting is more fun with friends!

Thanks for your help - please see the attachment.

The following are important upcoming events for Cub Scout Pack 422:

I also want to make sure that everyone is aware that we are not attempting to complete rank requirements by Blue & Gold this year, primarily due to the even greater difficulty of accomplishing that task with the new program.  The Webelos II’s are the only rank that must complete their requirement (Arrow of Light) by Blue & Gold for their Crossover to Boy Scouts.  All other ranks will complete their requirements by the Crossover in mid-May.

Tuesday, December 8th Pack meeting (Toys for Tots): 6:30pm - 8pm at WSES Cafeteria

Posted on Nov 30 2015 - 9:42am

Please bring a new unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots (www.toysfortots.org) toy drive to the regularly scheduled Pack meeting.  I encourage you to allow your Scout to participate in this process and either contribute his own money or at least participate in helping you pick out a toy to give to another child - please help give him an appreciation for just how lucky he is to be able to help someone else in need this holiday season.  This is another opportunity for our Pack to give back to our community and help to ensure that those less fortunate than ourselves have the opportunity to enjoy the holidays. Felicia Roberts will be collecting the toys at the Pack meeting - thanks for volunteering Felicia!!!!

Neighborhood Police Officer Sawyer is attending to talk about his job and bicycle safety.

The traditional Dad and Lad cake bake has been tentatively moved to the Blue & Gold banquet in February.

Thank you, and I hope to see you there.
