Welcome to Fort Worth, Texas Pack 422!

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. These events may be with their families, Den (boys of the same age or grade) or the whole Pack.

Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the Den meetings and the monthly Pack meetings.

Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Uniform, the Scout Oath and Law, the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.

Use "Contact Us" to get information to join our pack anytime and see what fun and adventures await your son!

SCOUT SUNDAY at Heritage Church of Christ

Posted by bmorgan on Feb 3 2017 - 12:02pm

A Scout is Reverent: Scout Sunday Observance

The Pack will participate in Scout Sunday at the Heritage Church of Christ (our Charter Organization).  Please arrive by 8:30am, which is 30 minutes prior to the first service at 9:00am.  The Scouts may be asked to act as greeters, hold doors open, and/or hand out bulletins.  This year Scouts will NOT be called forward to be recognized - just FYI - they had a scheduling conflict with their planned service, so we are just going to be there to provide assistance as needed and attend the service. All Scouts and adult Scout leaders are asked to be in their Class A uniforms.

If you prefer to attend your own church service, rather than Heritage, we encourage your son to wear his Class A uniform with respect to Scout Sunday, which celebrates the founding of the BSA on 2/8/1910 and exemplifies the reverence required of a Scout.

The Boy Scouts of America have designated the Sunday preceding February 8th as Scout Sunday and the following Saturday is designated as Scout Sabbath. The United Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church (USA) celebrate Scout Sunday on the second Sunday of February so as not to conflict with Transfiguration Sunday.

The day is meant to mark the founding of the Scouts in the United States. Observation varies by unit and locale. Scouts go to their places of worship in uniform and help with the service.

In the United States, Scouting has been used by churches, synagogues, and many other religious organizations as part of their youth ministries. At least 50 percent of all Scouting units are chartered to religious groups. These observances offer an opportunity for congregations to honor Scouts and Scouters, as well as to learn more about the value of Scouting as a youth program.

Attending Scout Sunday helps to complete the Duty to God requirement for your rank. Thank you.

Popcorn Kernel Volunteer Needed

Posted by jcotten on Nov 19 2016 - 4:53pm

Hi Pack 422 Parents,

Our Pack has an opening for our Popcorn Kernel position beginning next Scouting year (2017-2018). Like most of our event-related volunteer roles, popcorn is ideally a 2 year commitment with the hope that one person serves & then mentors another. This way the volunteer duties that are the driving force in our Scouting Program are more fairly distributed. If everyone steps up to help in some area for some period of time, we can then all have time off to fully enjoy our son’s Scouting Adventures.

Heritage Church of Christ Fall Festival (MONSTER JAM) - Saturday, October 29th from 5:30 - 8:00pm (help clean up after)
